A person is hospitalized after being struck by a car near a Long Island Rail Road station.

Emergency crews were called just before 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, after a pedestrian was struck by the Wyandanch LIRR station near Station Drive and Straight Path, according to Suffolk County Police.

The person was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip in unknown condition. Authorities did not elaborate on the nature of their injuries.

Police also did not reveal the victim’s age or gender.

It was not immediately clear whether the driver remained at the scene or will face charges.
